Test of a fire retardant spray

Various types of fabric are treated with MSL Firecheck and then subjected to a flame.

Two identical pieces of each fabric are tested, the left piece has been treated, the right one has not.

Conclusion

The spray was most effective on the cotton fabric (samples at the left side of the board).

The next two fabrics were synthetics and tended to melt rather than burn, although there was still some difference between the treated and untreated samples.

The sample at the right side melted and burned very quickly, both treated and untreated samples were rapidly destroyed. This was also a synthetic fabric.
